Give people a reason to come back
Find the repeated job behind repeat use.
The idea
Retention starts with a recurring need and reliable value. Extra notifications cannot repair a product that is not useful. Choose a return interval that matches the job: daily, weekly, monthly, or project-based.
Put it into practice
Group users by when they first experienced value. Track whether they repeat the core action at the natural interval. Interview people who stopped and distinguish a finished one-time job from a preventable product failure.
Designers may need revision summaries once per client project, not every day. Measure return across relevant projects before concluding that low daily activity is a problem.
Use AI thoughtfully
Ask AI to summarize cancellation themes from anonymized feedback with evidence attached. Use the themes to form testable changes, not automatic conclusions about every user.
